Peter (Hoa) Stone was orphaned as a child during the Vietnam War. He contracted polio as a young child, and in later life has been affected by post-polio syndrome. This has resulted in him needing to be in a wheel chair at all times. After a traumatic and dramatic life growing up in Australia, he returned to his homeland as a humanitarian worker. He has trained a team of local people with disability to manage and run the project for him to this day.
With his background, he has a real understanding and a heart for disadvantaged children and he saw that while many people care for orphans, there was limited planning for their ongoing care and support.
